Dr Mastry has delivered well over 6,000 babies since completing his specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1991.

He studied at the University of South Florida, College of Medicine, in Tampa, Florida USA. He is a Fellow of both the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is a Diplomat of the American Boards of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr Mastry finds no greater joy than the privilege of being part of such a special event in the lives of his patients as the birth of their child.

Dr Mastry has extensive experience caring for both high-risk and low-risk pregnancies, including multiple gestations, gestational diabetes, recurrent pregnancy loss, thyroid disease, hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, thrombophilias, vaginal birth after caesarean (VBAC), IVF pregnancies and other medical complications of pregnancy.

Dr Mastry’s area of special medical interest is in gynaecologic ultrasound, for which he received specialised training. This helps him to provide comprehensive care to his patients across the entire spectrum of gynaecologic disorders, including infertility. His surgical expertise encompasses abdominal, vaginal and minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures. He has participated in many clinical studies over the years, and has been published in respected journals such as Obstetrics and Gynaecology and The American Journal of Paediatrics. He is fluent in Spanish and French.

For much of his career, Dr Mastry has been involved in teaching Registrars in the specialty training program for Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He provided care in 19 remote communities in far North Queensland between 1999 and 2001, as a locum with the Far North Regional Obstetrics and Gynaecology Service, before deciding to settle in his wife’s native Brisbane.

Dr Mastry is an examiner for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, and is a founding board member for the Celma Mastry Ovarian Cancer Foundation which promotes public awareness, funds research and helps patients and their families with financial support when affected by ovarian cancer.

Dr Mastry, his wife and three daughters have lived locally in Redlands since establishing Moreton Bay Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2005.
